About the Event

Who should attend?

Swimmers, do you aspire to join a college team? Serious swimmers and their families in 8th- 11th grade who aspire to compete in college should join the seminar. For Junior National swimmers,  recruiting starts in June after 10th grade.   Futures and sectional level swimmers should start their recruiting campaign before Christmas of 11th grade.  An early understanding of the process and expectations can make a huge difference in recruiting options and success.

What will we learn?

Diana will share a plan that serious swimmers and their families should follow to find the best college where the student-athlete will thrive personally, academically, and athletically.  The heart of the discussion will be how to begin and follow through on the first step of college recruiting: crafting a college list. You will depart with an understanding of  the process, steps to take, priorities, expected times and grades, handouts, a calendar, and resources to support your efforts.

Who is leading the workshop?

Diana Daymond is a graduate of Berkeley and MIT. She is a professional college counselor who coaches students with all interests but has deep experience and expertise in comprehensively guiding athletes through college recruiting and the application process. Diana was an NCAA Division One swimmer and competed in Olympic Trials. Both of her children were college swimmers. . For over 10 years, Diana has advised dozens of swimmers and athletes in many sports to prepare for and successfully navigate the very challenging and quickly changing college recruiting and admission process.   In addition to recruiting,  Diana specializes in counseling students into highly selective colleges and in  writing effective college essays.  Essays are a crucial component for applications even for recruited athletes.

In the past three years  Diana's students have been actively recruited at these colleges and many more:  Berkeley, UCSB, UCSD, Stanford, USC, UOP, University of San Diego, Cal Poly , Texas,  Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Williams, Amherst, Univ. of Chicago,  AIr Force Academy, Naval Academy, Bates, Bowdoin, Wellesely,  NYU, Boston University, Seattle Univ, Trinity, Occidental, Pomona, Chapman, Scripps, Swarthmore  etc...
